This is my design entry for cjrogers1993 PD4 topic 1. We were asked to "Design an outfit for A high class women who gets stuck on an island with no clothing: Design an outfit out of materials found on the island to create something rich and high class It's all about INNOVATION."
So i created this outfit inspired by gucci and vercachi's 2006 summer lines. I really liked the way their dresses flowed and the feminine detailes. This dress is a woven/knotted long grasses, palm tree leaves and bannana leaves. I thought about what i would want if i was high class and stuck naked on an island. It needed to be a dress because pants made out of leaves would give one wicked wedgie. I knew that the dress needed to be short, because it's such a bother to carry around long skirts. I wanted to make this practical, and something that coudl actually be made so if you look hard you can see most of the little knots involved. her hair thing is kinda..... lame i admit, but it was on before i realised that. It has some parrot feathers to brighten up the outfit though aand take away from all the green. Then lastly i decided she may want some panties for modesty, so she got some cute woven bikini bottoms.
